Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 128: Today, I am grateful for the wonder of a mother's womb.
I saw one of those "think about it" statements that has stuck with me. It adds to the wonder of a mother's womb. A baby girl is born with all of her eggs, so for the nine months a baby girl is in her mother's womb, her mother is also carrying her future grandchildren, too. Incredible.
It was John the Baptist who first recognized Jesus. He "leapt in his mother, Elizabeth's womb, when Mary arrived pregnant at her door. Both women experienced the miracle of pregnancy and birth in the most unique way. Unexpected... miraculous... and "wonder"-ful.
As a baby grows inside, the miracle never gets old. The womb provides a perfect place to grow, nourished and protected. I think the time in the womb builds a first time mother's confidence in God's design. Her love is fierce and protective long before she holds her baby in her arms.
I found a fun clip on YouTube that I had to share. I hope you enjoy it. It is two babies talking about life after the womb. May the wonder of it all never cease to bring us a sense of awe and reverence.
Today, I am grateful for the wonder of a mother's womb.
