Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 148: Today, I am grateful for relationship builders.
This is one of my favorite verses. It is easy to memorize and holds the secret to relationship building. When we talk about "love your neighbor as yourself" this is a perfect supporting verse.
Celebrating alone is depressing. Mourning alone is the loneliest kind of loneliness. Seek out both.
"Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep." -Romans 12:15
This builds families or breaks the ties that binds. Laugh, celebrate, and cry together. Rich and full relationships do both.
When searching for a church, a neighborhood, or even a work environment, look for these qualities. Our little street only has six houses, so perhaps it is easier to build community... but we know quite a few of our neighbors on surrounding streets.
Building community is intentional. Sharing our joys and sorrows creates a thread of companionship that satisfies something money cannot buy. It says you matter here. You belong.
Evil destroys. Love builds. Hope and strength build when we rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.
Today, I am grateful for relationship builders.
