Youth tend to have big ideas and very little fear. They are passionate and willing to work, when an opportunity presents itself. As adults, it is easy to say "no" when they really need a "yes!"
The St. Jude Telethon and run swiftly approaches. It is a cause that is very close to my heart. This time of year, there are always lemonade stands that pop up for St. Jude. What a beautiful way to teach compassion, refreshment, and generosity with some lemons, sugar, and water.
Parents have to support them. Then they let them do the work. Customers are often generous. It is a boredom buster. They get to work with money, so they keep those math skills sharp over the summer days.
"If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly." Romans 12:8
Look for the lemonade stands this summer. Encourage young entrepreneurs. Delight in a glass of lemonade.
