A Kiss of Evidence

Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 296: Today, I am grateful for a kiss of evidence.

Forty days and nights of rain in an ark loaded with animals. Imagine it, if you can. The scents, the noise, the work, and the wondering if the rain would ever stop. Then, they had to wait for the waters to recede and the land to recover. Can we even imagine it?

The time on the boat must have felt endless.

"After waiting another seven days, Noah released the dove again.  This time the dove returned to him in the evening with a fresh olive leaf in its beak. Then Noah knew that the floodwaters were almost gone.  He waited another seven days and then released the dove again. This time it did not come back." Genesis 8:10-12

Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see, but that kiss of evidence must have been incredible. The earth would be restored and God would make a covenant with man that he would not destroy the earth with water again.

The rainbow would remind us forever of the promise. It continues to be another "kiss" from God and a reminder of his promise.

Today, I am grateful for a kiss of evidence.
