Psalm 67

Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 324: Today, I am grateful for Psalm 67.

The number 67 has become a bit of an obsession. It is a random thing with no deeper meaning behind it. Students celebrated the 67th day of school... between the 50th and 100th day celebrations. My friend, Jim Sedgwick, always said "Make every day a holiday and every meal a feast." Why not celebrate 67, too?

As I was reflecting on the whole 67 thing, I thought it might be fun to look up 67's in scripture. It was perfect for this Thanksgiving season. It captures awe and respect for a God who is bigger, stronger, and shinier than our earth bound minds can truly comprehend.

As I learned at the end of the first year of Daily Gratitude, "Daily Gratitude does not change God. It changes me.

This Psalm is often used as a blessing:

"May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.

May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity  and guide the nations of the earth. May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.

The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us.
May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him." -Psalm 67

Pray it. Live it. Pour from your blessing cup so others may know the joy of the Lord.

Today, I am grateful for Psalm 67.
