Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 312: Today, I am grateful for purpose.
"Do what you can with what you have, where you are."
It is a great little quote. We can't do everything, but we can do something. Take it one day at a time.
This past week, some students from one of our local grade schools made their way to a local memory care facility. They call themselves the "Ambassadors." The pictures were extra sweet.
You could feel the compassion and patience that flowed from the students, and the residents were so excited to have the students visit. I am not sure who had the bigger smiles. It is an example of doing what you can, right where you are.
I am grateful for the teacher who is willing to help organize the opportunities for youth to serve at school and in the community. She is pretty special.
To be filled with love that comes from a pure heart is evidence of a clear conscience and genuine faith. It is not about what you have, but what you can give. Time, attention, and gentle compassion are too often in short supply.
"The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith." -1 Timothy 1:5
Today, I am grateful for purpose.
