Reminders

Daily Gratitude Year 12 - Day 148: Today, I am grateful for reminders to trust and encourage each other.

I always say, "I love reminders!" I keep alarms, post-it notes, and use other tools to help me remember things. My "hard drive" is kind of full and can be slow. Reminder tools help.

We need reminders in other areas of our lives. I find myself often moving from task to task with a check-off list. Being busy in life easily becomes our business.

The days fill up with worries and checklists. It leaves little room for the pause to encourage others. I do not think "busy and worried" is how God intended us to live our days.

I have a friend who spent a year in Proverbs. It is a sure way to gain wisdom.

"Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up." -Proverbs 12:25 NLT

Breaking free of the cycle of worry might come from focusing, instead, on building others up with intention. Planning our days to be intentionally encouraging can impact our attitudes. The time it takes to pour love, hope, kindness, help, encouragement, comfort, and joy into someone's day is always time well spent.

Here is a great reminder for the work week following Memorial Day:

"So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing." -1 Thessalonians 5:11

Today, I am grateful for reminders to trust and encourage each other.
