Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 122: Today, I am grateful for genuine affection.
We have had some rainy days in the past week. This image is so sweet. I love elephants and our son and daughter-in-love have brought some sweet kitties into our world. This picture caught my eye and then I read the scripture:
"Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other." -Romans 12:9-10
The passage recognized the value in loving together with reciprocity. Loving "with" not just pouring out love. Affection re-fuels us and restores our energy.
When the boys were little, it did not matter how tired we were, there was a recharge in those bedtime hugs and kisses. Genuine affection.
Take delight in honoring each other. Let affection be genuine. Offer to hold the umbrella.
Today, I am grateful for genuine affection.
