Reclaimed

Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 122: Today, I am grateful to be reclaimed.

But now, O Jacob, listen to the LORD who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. -Isaiah 43:1 NLT

There are so many "Fear not" passages in the Bible. This is one of my favorites. A friend from church taught us a song that is one of my favorites. It is found in Isaiah 43:1-2. (Thank you, Gary Nabors) I think he wrote the song. He now composes in Heaven. I will always be grateful for the scripture set to music. It helps us memorize with ease.

This powerful "Fear not!" instruction declares that we have been redeemed and adopted. Oh, what a wonderful message of hope and joy. Loving fathers(and mothers) do not abandon their children. They will chase to the ends of the earth and sacrifice themselves to rescue their lost, hurt, kidnapped, or sick children.

That is what our Heavenly Father did. We need only call out for the rescue. Sometimes, reclaimed items are even more beautiful when restored.

Today, I am grateful to be reclaimed.
