Glimmers

Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 316: Today, I am grateful for glimmers.

Glimmers: Glimmers are the opposite of triggers. They're those tiny moments of joy, awe, and peace that cue our nervous system to feel safe, calm, and connected." -Marina Wright

We can choose to look for the "glimmers" in our days. The opposite of "triggers," they are tiny moments of joy, awe, and peace that speak to our nervous systems... and our souls.

Last night there was an amazing sky. Gorgeous and unusual. I was blessed to receive two images by text/email. You cannot look at such beauty without a response. A night sky lit with color is amazing.

When children play sweetly together, it is beautiful. When the coffee pot is full just when you need it... that is a glimmer and a blessing, too.

I think glimmers are the unexpected graces we witness every day, but we must tune our brains to the right frequency to receive them.

"Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many." -Hebrews 12:15

Look for the glimmers. Grant grace after grace to each other and to yourselves. Seek His face.

Today, I am grateful for glimmers.
