Wednesday-Blessing & A Curse

Daily Gratitude Year 4-Day 97: Today, I am grateful for Wednesday wit...and a blessing and a curse.

This image cracked me up...and perfect for a "hump day". I don't know when the phrase began, but I know it was around before the Geiko camel commercials. We put a great deal of pressure on Wednesday. We look at where we have been...and what is ahead.

Wednesday seems to be a blessing and a curse at times. We...once again...make a perspective choice. God is very clear about the power of choice.

This scripture is a record of conversation Moses with the Israelite's in the desert. They had driven him to frustration, anger and moments of madness as he attempted to lead them through the desert to the edge of the promised land. They could not let go of their idols and the things they learned living in Egypt. Despite God's daily provision for all their needs, they were easily distracted by worldly things. Moses often spoke to them...holding back nothing. No sugar coated thoughts...but clear direction from God.

“See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse:  the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way that I am commanding you today, to go after other gods that you have not known." -Deuteronomy 11:26-28

There is more to today than a hump in the middle of the week. Don't give up. Don't give in to the grumpfest. Today, is a day to choose to choose his way...or chase after 'other gods".

Continuing the week's theme...let's make it the "best Wednesday of the week". (Believe me ...this is as much for my heart as it is yours).

Our days are given one at a time for a reason. Two would be too much. His promises... frequent prayer... and several cups of coffee...and we are on our way. We can choose the blessing path.

Today, I am grateful for Wednesday wit...and a blessing and a curse.
