Fireworks

Daily Gratitude Year 7-Day 185: Today, I am grateful for fireworks.

UnityPoint sponsors "Red, White and BOOM!" every Fourth of July. I remember it is worth the wait. I forget how fantastic it really is.

What an amazing show, right here in Peoria! We gathered and watched the show on the lawn next to the river. The rain did not fall and the temperatures cooled a bit as late afternoon fell. It was a truly lovely.

I love fireworks for so many reasons. The glitter ones are some of my favorites. The show was full of them .

As humans, we cannot comprehend what it feels like to hang a star in the sky, but we can appreciate it and wonder at it.

“Can you direct the movement of the stars—  binding the cluster of the Pleiades."  Job 38:31

He created the heavens and the earth. The earth sits in perfect distance from the sun because he raised his hand to put it in order.

It is the Lord who created the stars, the Pleiades and Orion. He turns darkness into morning and day into night. He draws up water from the oceans and pours it down as rain on the land. The Lord is his name! -Amos 5:8

We don't hang the stars... but we love to count them, watch them and try to solve their mysteries.

Today, I am grateful for fireworks.
