Festival Wednesday

Daily Gratitude Year 9 - Day 256: Today, I am grateful for Festival Wednesday.

Traditions matter. For so many years, our Pumpkin Festival tradition is Wednesday night at the Food tent and rides for the kids with the Leanders.

This year, Ryan and Anna's little one, Elias, was excited about the rides. How did 30 years slip by so quickly? I remember when Ryan, Chase, Blake and Walker were excited about the kiddie rides. For me, of course, it was the first Apple Cider Slushy of the festival.

Abigail  and Walker were willing to brave the festival with Mama, so for the first time... Mama Ina Mae was a Pumpkin Festival Participant.  I could not help but smile to see the familiar festival sights.

Festivals really are special. Times of celebration with family and friends help us remember the value in sharing special seasons. Festivals are full of remembrance.

"Blow the trumpets in times of gladness, too, sounding them at your annual festivals and at the beginning of each month. And blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and peace offerings. The trumpets will remind your God of his covenant with you. I am the Lord your God.” -Numbers 10:10

Today, I am grateful for Festival Wednesday.
