Reframing

Daily Gratitude Year 12 - Day 151: Today, I am grateful for reframing.

No, I do not mean reframing a picture. So many times we get frustrated and discouraged because we do not use the power of reframing a situation. How and what we think about something impact can set the tone for any experience.

"A whole lot of what we call "struggling" is simply delayed obedience." -Elisabeth Elliot

Life comes with struggles. It makes a difference how we choose to see the trials that come our way. It is easy to miss opportunities to grow in understanding, empathy, and in relationship with our Lord.

I love this passage. Imagine the man with a tiny house but a happy wife? How about the woman with a beautiful home but a grumpy spouse? Reframing these situations can change everything.

Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife." - Proverbs 21:9

Perhaps our struggle is truly because we are trying to ignore God's hand in our plans. It is okay. He is persistent. There is joy on the other side of the surrender. Perhaps is is not a struggle but a training ground.

Today, I am grateful for reframing.
