Daily Gratitude-Year Eleven: Day 122- Today I am grateful we can build each other up.
It is easy to get discouraged and tired. Some days, weeks, months, and years have more than their share of trials and woes. There are days we feel like we are facing flaming arrows simply because we rolled out of bed.
"In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." -Ephesians 6:16
Oh, those flaming arrows! Duck, dive and throw up your shield.
My friend, Joe, is constantly reminding those around him to practice situational awareness. He is right. So many problems can be avoided if we are finely tuned into what is going on around us. Human nature leads us to focusing on our own desires and needs. It is actually more fulfilling to pause and ponder the needs around us that we can help meet.
"You do you. I'll do me." We have all heard it, but it is an isolating philosophy. The enemy wants us to isolate. God designed us for relationships.
"So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing." -1 Thessalonians 5:11
Who can you build up today?
Today I am grateful we can build each other up.
