"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts." -Colossians 3:16
It was the lesson uncovered in my first 365 days of daily gratitude. Gratitude does not change the trial or the circumstance. It does not change God. It changes us.
It is 4,643 days from January 1, 2013 to September 17, 2025 (including leap years). Gratitude is easy some days. But, there are days that I sit and stare at the keyboard unsure of where to begin. But, it always comes. There is always... always... something to be thankful for.
What is the secret? Thankfulness keeps us focused on the blessings and not the struggles. It reminds us that even in hard times, God is good. Hope floats.
A good cup of coffee, tea, or cacao to start the day is good for the soul. A message from the Word sets our compass. Looking for something to be grateful for is a weapon against discouragement.
Today, I am grateful for gratitude's secret.
