The Weird People

Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 270: Today, I am grateful for the weird people.

"I like the weird people. The black sheep, the odd ducks, the rejects, the eccentrics, the loners, the lost and forgotten. More often than not, these people have the most beautiful souls."

When we were in high school, my friend, Kelly, once said, "It is good to be weird." I couldn't agree more.

The world is full of imitators and imitations. It is the antithesis of who God designed us to be. In our families, we all have shared DNA that comes together uniquely. Even identical twins have differences.

It is not just "okay" to be unique, it is wonderful... yes, full of wonder.

"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb." -Psalm 139:13

John the Baptist was weird. So were several of the disciples, but Jesus looked past their 'weird' and saw their untapped potential. We all have quirks. Creativity and purpose can be embraced when we let go of our self-defined purpose to discover what God has for us.

Today, I am grateful for the weird people.
