It is a pause. It is the day we get to take a deep breath and catch up. There are appointments and other things that fill the day, but they are not the same as a regular weekday... or even a Sunday.
On Saturday morning, there is still quite a bit of weekend ahead.
They say in retirement your days run together. I cannot even imagine it.
Saturday was the day between the crucifixion of Jesus and Resurrection Sunday. It was a terrifying day... a sad day... a day to try and figure out what it all meant. It was a day of self examination and decision.
And in a blink... it is Sunday.
Today, I am grateful for Saturdays.
