Daily Gratitude Year Eleven-Day 344- Today, I am grateful for Charles Dickens.
"for it is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas, when its mighty founder was a child himself." -Charles Dickens
Dickens is a most interesting author. He was a masterful wordsmith. He could paint harsh scenes with his words, and then delicately pull at the heartstrings. Most are familiar with "A Christmas Carol." It has stood the test of time and captures a very English tradition of telling ghost stories at Christmas.
Dickens must have carefully observed children. It is reflected in his writing. I love the hopeful disposition of Tiny Tim.
Children are fun to observe at Christmas. They are full of enthusiasm for everything that reflects the season.
“God bless us every one!”
It all began with a child.
Today, I am grateful for Charles Dickens.
