I believe this, as I have seen evidence many times in my life. A short delay means missing a traffic accident or some other dangerous scenario. It can mean not being hit by a deer or encountering someone with less than good intentions in a parking lot.

My first professional job after college began when I was rear-ended on University Ave. in Peoria. A long story, but Officer Bob Youngman... I will never forget your kindness.
Look for the miracles and the Master Minstrel in the moments... good and bad. Never cry over burnt toast.
Today, I am grateful for the burnt toast theory.
