Julie's Hour

Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 306: Today, I am grateful Julie got her hour back.

We have come to call it "Julie's Hour" in our house. Our Julie does not appreciate having an hour stolen in the spring. Today was a day of rejoicing because Julie got her hour back. There might have been a little happy dancing going on in the house of the Lord this morning. I was happy to dance. There was some serious joy overflowing.

There are hundreds of ways to spend that extra hour. Sleeping, for me, is probably the best choice, but for many of us, we want a chance to do the thing we never have time to do. An extra hour of reading... or even cleaning up an email box.

We are doing a gratitude challenge at work and those were a few of the things mentioned. I find myself getting such big ideas for that extra hour, it is easy to waste it away. In a week, my body will adjust, but for now, it feels like "sleeping in."

Time is truly more precious than gold. I thought of this scripture about Jesus's return:

“So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return." Matthew 25:13

It was a beautiful fall day to enjoy our extra hour.

Today, I am grateful Julie got her hour back.
