Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 331: Today, I am grateful we can sing with thankful hearts.
"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts." -Colossians 3:16
Does the message dwell within in a way that our hearts burst out in grateful songs? What dwells within me? What do I carry around with me every day? On my face? In my heart?
We make these choices everyday. I am a chronic overpacker. I am a "just in case" girl, so I always pack for the unexpected that rarely happens. Choices matter. Do we over pack when we carry worry and anxiety?
I was reminded of a quote from Victor Frankl that I love:
"The last of human freedoms - the ability to choose one's attitude, especially an attitude of gratitude in a given set of circumstances, especially in difficult circumstances." -Viktor E. Frankl
He knew this from all that he saw in Hitler's concentration camps. He saw the best in people and the worst. One's attitude can be the very thing that helps us not only survive difficult times, but to find ways to bow our heads and lift our hearts in gratitude. The song of a grateful heart is one of the sweetest.
Today, I am grateful we can sing with thankful hearts.
