I tend to catalog songs in my head. I enjoy music from most genres. Lyrics combined with the perfect melody often land a song on my "power songs" or my "soul songs" lists. I have my "patriotic songs" and "ballads," too. Favorite "worship songs," too. Music is a part of everyday living.
Mondays often require something from the "power songs" list. Dress for success and bring the right music, too. There is something about Garth Brooks' song, "Rodeo" that talks about the passion for what the cowboy does that reminds me of work ethic and commitment. A new one by Emerson Day seems to be on the radio on the way to work. "Get Behind Me" is quite a power song, as is "Goodbye Yesterday."
What we fill our heads and hearts with can change our days.
"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer." -Psalm 19:14
Today, I am grateful for power songs
