Daily Gratitude Year 4- Day 258: Today, I am grateful for apple cider slushies!
"One a day until the Pumpkin Festival goes away!"
I know it is silly. Still, only for a brief festival season is one of my favorite fall delights. The apple cider slushies from Uncle Bob's use only Tanner's cider. If you are local, that explains a great deal. Tanner's cider is the very best... ever.
Think "Icee" or "Mr. Misty" but add the tang of the apple cider. Surely, there is vitamin C making it a fruit, with a little sugar. Right? Jill and I used to meet up town just to get our slushies on the nights the guys didn't want to face the crowd again. I will continue the tradition.
The sweet and the tart all in one... with the risk of a brain freeze if you try and take it all in too quickly. The right treat at the right time, but don't take it in too quickly.
"He has made everything beautiful in its time." Ecclesiastes 3:11a
Patience between festivals isn't easy. It doesn't seem to work when I try to freeze and make one at home.
Patience as God puts his plan into place isn't always easy. It want to rush things or make my vision His vision. Sometimes, I work so hard at something when waiting on Him would mean so much less distress. Less frustration. More joy.
Seeking to make His vision my own is part of the journey. Some days it is a wild ride... like the "Tilt-a-hurl" or the "Para-puker" (Did I mention that we Smiths are prone to motion sickness?). Other times, it is sweet with a tangy twist... like Uncle Bob's Apple Cider Slushies.
Oh, yes! Today, I am grateful for apple cider slushies!
