Timely Messages

Daily Gratitude Year 4- Day 245: Today, I am grateful for timely messages.

This quote from Corrie ten Boom is perfect. She certainly knew political unrest.

"Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God." - Corrie ten Boom

Have you ever received news or messages at just the right time? Gas is going up...fill up. Rain is on the way... mow today. Conditions are right for a tornado...be watchful. Someone sends a message they are running late... you adjust your schedule. Timely messages are thoughtful, helpful and can direct our days in productive ways.

A timely message should be well received, even if it isn't good news. "Don't shoot the messenger." is a phrase that comes to mind. We don't always know what lies ahead... but we can trust a known God. He does not change.

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. -2 Chronicles 7:14

There are times we find ourselves in moments and situations we never planned. Esther experienced this and her Uncle Mordecai presented her with this question and challenge:

And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” - Esther 4:14b

"What if you are here for this moment?" Now that was a timely message that resulted in a change not just for her, but for her people. She did not know what the outcome would be when she stepped into the opportunity that opened up. Her choice lead to the fall of Haman, a wicked man of influence in the government when his deceptions, agendas and lies were revealed.

Since we do not have the power to turn back time...we must move forward. We must be ready. We can receive timely messages with a pause, a prayer and make an educated move forward. God sets his own timetable:

He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. -Acts 1:7

We can trust his timing... and His provisions.

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. -2 Corinthian 9:8

Christ's grace is sufficient. Our God provides our "enough". The enemy whispers dissatisfaction. The Holy Spirit calms and blankets with contentment when he is invited to do his work.

Today, I am grateful for timely messages.
