Finish the Task

Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 147: Today, I am grateful for the times we complete the task.

The end of a school year always brings the "once a year" tasks that must be completed while the countdown to the first day of school begins. Tasks are part of work. Completing them "for another year" always feels like a victory. Checklists are good.

Our daily walk with Jesus is a little different. The work assigned is really pretty simple and repetitive but never boring. We are to focus on sharing the Good News of Jesus paying off our sin debt and God's grace poured out on us through His son.

We are to love God with undivided hearts. We are to love others with the same wild abandon that He loves us.

"But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God." -Acts 20:24

It really is profoundly simple but we spend a lifetime trying to "complete the task." Many today have physical trainers to improve wellness, strength, and overall health. Do we seek out spiritual trainers, too?

Building patience. Practicing kindness. Speaking truth in love and not self-righteousness. Studying the guide book from Genesis to Revelation. Stay focused. These things will help us reach our goals. We are here for a reason.

Today, I am grateful for the times we complete the task.
