Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 126: Today, I am grateful that He waits.
Our perspective is sometimes skewed. Are we really waiting on God or is He waiting for us to catch up and "get with the program?"
"I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guard post. There I will wait to see what the Lord says and how he will answer my complaint." - Habakkuk 2:1
We can learn much from Nehemiah. He was "cupbearer to the king" before God called him to a construction job leading a group of people who often complained more than they worked. Nehemiah did what God called him to do, even when it did not make sense.
We cannot see the big picture. He does. The job we are called to do may be less prestigious and outside how we see ourselves, but it may be vital to the work of the Kingdom. We simply do not have "God goggles." We do not see as he sees.
Embrace the day. Celebrate hands that are able to do the work before us. Don't fret about the assignment. Just do it! God is way ahead of us, but do not fret. He waits for us to catch up.
Today, I am grateful that He waits.
