Most of us have a "perfect morning drink." Some like it hot. Some like it cold. Some need it before they are available for any kind of conversation. (Remember to drink that glass of water while you wait for the morning magic to brew.)
For me... coffee(now I have to do decaf... and I will because I truly love coffee) and my most recent choice of cacao (a roasted cacao bean beverage made in a French press). Some people prefer tea. I have a friend who drinks hot water with lemon every morning. Some have a Diet Coke or a Diet Mountain Dew.
Whatever the "perfect morning drink" is, we savor it. My favorite way is under the pergola on a summer morning or with overnight company.
This was the perfect verse for the perfect drink:
"But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” -John 4:14
His Living Water is a daily drink, too. It comes in the form of time in the Word, prayer, and listening to your local Christian radio on the way to work. Drink in His goodness.
Today, I am grateful for the perfect morning drink.
