"Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment." -Proverbs 9:10
This verse tells us that wisdom comes when we begin to understand who God is. God is bigger, wider, and deeper than we ever dreamed. He is truly awesome. Wisdom takes root in the knowledge of God.
"Fear" does not mean being afraid. Fear means having a healthy understanding of who God is and letting that understanding bring us to our knees in worship.
Pride and arrogance do not please God. Humility and seeking His face do.
Today, I am grateful that wisdom is rooted in fear of the Lord.
