When something is "written on your heart," you do not have to contemplate it. It comes naturally, like breathing.
"I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.” -Psalm 40:8
When we love God, we want to please him. The desire to do His will reflects our relationship with him. Just as a father wants to give good things to his children, the children delight in doing things that please the father. The relationship is reciprocal and full of love.
Relationships where we know the expectations are better than the ones where we are unsure. The laws were given to make our lives better. Following them adds joy to our days.
Today, I am grateful for the things written on our hearts.
