Daily Gratitude Year 12 - Day 64: Today, I am grateful for beautiful, humble tasks.
"The humble tasks get beautified if loving hands do them." - Louisa May Alcott, Little Women
What a great quote. It is full of truth.
Changing laundry, making dinner, mopping floors, caring for the sick, and changing diapers qualify. There is nothing glamorous about the task, but when it is offered as a "living sacrifice," it becomes something beautiful.
True humility does not look for attention. It does not need to "be seen." It comes from a heart that loves deeply and tenaciously.
"And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him." -Romans 12:1
Today, I am grateful for beautiful, humble tasks.
