There is a special joy that comes from being loved and cherished.
Perhaps it is why we feel emotional at weddings. The understanding of the perfect commitment to an imperfect person is beautiful. Both partners know they are not flawless, but somehow... they fit together. They are perfect for each other.
There is a confidence in the soul of one who knows they are loved deeply and unconditionally that the world seeks but never finds.
This is "true love":
As the Scriptures say in the book of Hosea, “The people who are not mine— I will say they are my people. And the people I did not love— I will say they are the people I love.” -Romans 9:25
Isn't that beautiful?" Can you hear and feel the tenderness in the words from the prophet Hosea? The broken, wayward, lost and seeking souls find they not only have a place at the table.. .they are called "beloved".
"for 'in Him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring." -Acts 17:29
Not "step-children" but we are offspring with all the rights and privileges.
Today, I am grateful to be called "beloved".
