"Our home should be life giving and soul refreshing, a soft spot to land on a hard day, and a cozy place to recharge and rejuvenate. "
As the weather turns colder, I am so grateful for home. The Love-of-My-Life made the first fire of the season last night. The scent, the crackle, the snaps, the pops, and the warm glow of the wood fireplace is something I have loved about our home from the day we bought it. It is the picture and the feel of "cozy."
Our homes are so much more than just a favorite feature or spot. Our home is about how we feel when we are there. With our people or alone, home should be a soft landing place to rest and recharge.
This morning, I was reminded that some people have no home. Others do not feel safe where they live. If you have a home that makes you feel safe and loved, it is something to be grateful for daily.
I love home. I, like my Mama, love a full house. It is up to us to make it a place of warmth, love, and shelter that reflects God's peace.
Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ -Luke 10:5
Today, I am grateful for home.
