Talk on the Walk

Daily Gratitude Year 13 - Day 279: Today, I am grateful for the talk on the walk.

"What's closest to your heart is what you talk about, and if God is close to your heart, you will talk about Him. -A.Z. Tozer

We talk about what is important or interesting to us. It is a natural human to converse with other people. Some need a lot of conversation... others prefer a little, but we were designed for relationships.

Our conversations are telling. They reflect our hearts, homes, hobbies, and our treasure. When God is at the center of those things... our hearts, homes, hobbies, and treasure, it comes up in conversation. When discussing troubles and trials, do we ever say, "I wonder how God will work this out?" Do we discuss scriptures that might encourage each other?

"And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”." -Joshua 24:15

What are the thoughts that escape into our talk? Which ones do we let out? The tongue is a challenge to control, but where we put our focus has an impact. Who or what are we chasing daily?

Today, I am grateful for the talk on the walk.
