I woke to the sound of rain. What a beautiful reason to celebrate.
We are so dry here. Not as dry as some, but dry enough there have been a few fires. Rain is life, health, and healing.
Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth; without rain, there would be no life. ~ John Updike.
David was in the wilderness of Judah when he wrote these words:
"O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water." -Psalm 61:1
Take in the sound of the drops falling. The rhythm of the rain is music to my ears. The scent is heavenly. The temperature is lovely... not hot or cold. For as long as it lasts this morning, I will be grateful.
Today, I am grateful for the rain.
