Egg Lesson

Daily Gratitude Year 5-Day 77: Today... I am grateful for the lesson from an egg.

"It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird. It would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary egg. We must be hatched or go bad." -CS LEWIS

We all begin our lives when egg and sperm meet. Biology. Safely knit in the womb we grow. We know voices. We begin to become.

From the time we are born. There are messages, choices and decisions to be made. Remember the first time you understood you made a bad choice and did something wrong? It happens quite young. It's awful.

What a beautiful teachable moment that is. Recognition of sin, seeking forgiveness and learning to make a wiser choice the net time. We do it with our children and our Heavenly Father does it with us. Sometimes... we still blow it, despite our best efforts and good intentions.

Isn't it good to know we have an advocate before the Father?
Jesus is our counsel.

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. -1 John 2:1

This verse never gets old.

Jesus doesn't want us to go bad... he wants us to spread our wings and fly. He is with us, whispering encouragement and ready to pick us up when we take a fall. The world points to our failures... he celebrates when we are one step closer to a heart that beats with His and eyes that see what He sees.

Today... I am grateful for the lesson from an egg.
