Daily Gratitude Year 10-Day 267: Today, I am grateful we have an advocate before the Father.
Isn't that the best? Jesus is our advocate!
He paid our sin debt in full. How great is that gift?
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. -1 John 2:1
This verse keeps coming up again and again. I think I need to memorize it.
We have a Hope. We have a promise. We have a counselor and a brother. We can offer up our lives to be living sacrifices:
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship."- Romans 12:1
Our lives, our work, our play... even a shared cup of coffee become our gift to the Lord. We do not always feel "true" and "proper" with our brokenness and imperfections, He has us covered. He pleads our case.
Today, I am grateful we have an advocate before the Father.
