Testing is only for a Season

Daily Gratitude Year Eleven- Day 82: Today, I am grateful testing only lasts for a season.

Students everywhere are facing some of the required testing that comes up in the Spring. It is a way to measure progress and learning. They are not the perfect measure, but they are a place to start. Most of us do not look forward to tests.

What about the spiritual and emotional tests we face as we walk through life? I love this image of "Miss Clara" from the movie "War Room." She would see God move and she would go into "Hallelujah" and "praise" mode.

She would cry out:  “‘Ha-haaaa! Devil, you just got your butt kicked!’ she screamed. ‘My God is faithful! He’s powerful! He’s merciful! He’s in charge! You can’t fire Him, and He’ll never retire! Glory! Praise the Lord!‘”

I get tickled just thinking about it. Her response to seeing God move was uninhibited joy. She could not contain it. She didn't care if she looked silly to others. Her goal was to please an Audience of One, while she spread the "Good news."

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." -James 1:12

We all have seasons when we focus on just getting through the day. Such seasons are a part of this world we know. It is a joy to know this time of testing is just for a season.

Press on. Press through. Achieve the goal.

Today, I am grateful testing only lasts for a season.
