This passage was used in this morning's message.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” -Matthew 11:28-30 (The Message)
Now, I know that some are not fans of "The Message" version, but for me... there are times I pull it out for the uninhibited way The Word is given. There are no holds barred. It can be blunt in one verse and then flow like poetry in another.
"Learn the unforced rhythms of grace."
Such a beautiful truth. Such a beautiful promise.
"Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
We are instructed to give up the burdens we were never intended to manage on our own. As we learn to give up the load and travel lightly, we learn the depths of His mercy. We learn to dance to the unforced, uninhibited rhythms of His grace.
Today, I am grateful for "Unforced Rhythms of Grace".
