The lives of the martyrs capture our attention. It is humbling to read of their courage until their last breath. I remember wondering as a child if I would be strong enough to face persecution. It all sounded pretty scary.
This is the scripture for day twenty of Lent:
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."-Matthew 5:10
If you are being persecuted for your faith, then someone noticed it. We are called to walk in faith with sincerity. We are to walk in the light of His word and His way.
We are called to be strong in the faith, whatever the days may bring. The promise is woven for them. "For theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Today, I am grateful for those who stand strong.
