Daily Gratitude Year Eleven-Day 215- Today, I am grateful for reminders to "consider our ways."
Why is it so easy to mix up priorities? Do I focus on the urgent and miss the important? First things first. It is that simple and that hard, right?
In the little book of Haggai, God is a bit irritated with His people. They need a priority realignment. They get one:
This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you! You have planted much but harvest little. You eat but are not satisfied. You drink but are still thirsty. You put on clothes but cannot keep warm. Your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes! “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you! -Haggai 1:5-7
Wow! Powerful words. The good news is they listened and made some changes. We can learn. It is one of the great gifts of being human.
We don't have to live by our impulses. We can make intentional choices.
Today, I am grateful for reminders to "consider our ways."
