There are so many things we cannot control. I like a plan with a back up plan, too. Part of our human nature is the desire to control situations and what is around us. Letting go of that control can be a daily battle.
I love... and need... the reminder in this verse:
"You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!" -Isaiah 26:3
If our thoughts and eyes are fixed on him, it is hard to not find His peace. There is power in the knowledge that we have a God who is present for us, with us, and working things out for our good and the good of the Kingdom.
He is not like Santa or a genie in a bottle. He is our Heavenly Father and there are other members of the family who have to be considered, too. Hard times can be God working it out in his time for a better resolution. God knows the big picture; I often focus on my few pieces in the puzzle. My corner of the world... the parts I can see... it's where I focus.
I am grateful we have a God who is Lord of the Universe. We can trust His plan and he can give us perfect peace.
Today, I am grateful there is perfect peace.
