Daily Gratitude Year 14-Day 279: Today, I am grateful for "sit outside" days.
Spring and fall are the best in Illinois. The temperatures can be not too hot, not too cold, and the humidity not uncomfortable. They are my favorite days of the year to sit outside.
To sit outside means taking in the nature around you. In the fall, the squirrels are busy. The butterflies are everywhere and the hummingbirds stop by for a sip of nectar as they prepare for the return to warmer places for the winter.
Sitting outside is an intentional act of slowing down. Taking in nature is an intentional observation of God's provision. Celebrating the ordinary can be extraordinary.
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.” – Matthew 6:28-29
It calms the spirit and refreshes the soul when we pause to sit outside on ordinary days.
Today, I am grateful for "sit outside" days.
