Daily Gratitude Year Eleven-Day 260- Today, I am grateful for intercession.
We all have days, weeks, seasons, months, and maybe even years when we simply do not know how to pray. Some things are too big or they hurt too much. Others are unfamiliar and inexperience makes us feel like we are out of our league or in waters of hurt or grief that are too deep to traverse.
This was my passage for today:
"And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words." - Romans 8:26
That beautiful reminder that the Comforter we were promised came, just as Jesus said he would.
We know from the scripture that the Holy Spirit carries our prayers "with groanings that cannot be expressed in words." Pretty powerful stuff. We so often fight to hold on to the burdens when we are told to lay them at His feet.
We are told to yoke ourselves to Him like the young oxen does with the strong and mature oxen as part of the yoke training. Such a great mental image.
Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep in step with the Spirit. He will carry our troubles to the throne.
Today, I am grateful for intercession.
