A Clear Conscience

Daily Gratitude Year 10-Day 310: Today, I am grateful for a clear conscience.

Oh, how I adore this passage!

"But I admit that I follow the Way, which they call a cult. I worship the God of our ancestors, and I firmly believe the Jewish law and everything written in the prophets. I have the same hope in God that these men have, that he will raise both the righteous and the unrighteous. Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people."-Acts 24:14-16

It is a good one. The more things change- the more they stay the same. Right?

Paul's passion to stop Christianity from spreading was sincere. He wanted to punish all who followed Jesus and "The Way".  Then he met "The Truth".

The Sanhedrin wanted "The Message" of the Gospel of Christ to be put out. But back then, as it is now... truth has a light of its own that permeates the darkness. It happens in God's timing, but the light of truth cannot be put out. The tiniest light permeates the darkness. Paul had experienced for himself what he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt to be true.

Paul could not be silent. He had to speak out. He had to tell the truth. The truth impacted Felix, his wife Drusilla and we don't know how many more.

"And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free." -John 8:32

It is a "truth bomb", for sure. It allows us to speak boldly and with a clear conscience.

Today, I am grateful for a clear conscience.
