In the past 24 hours, I have been hearing the hum of the heater as it kicks on. What a blessing it is to have heat at the touch of a dial or button. A working heater gives us comfort, and it is lifesaving in these near zero temperatures.
It is a good day to say a prayer for the protection and discernment of the HVAC technicians and electricians who go out on calls to problem solve in these bitter conditions.
It is a great day to bless those who shelter the homeless in our communities. They rely on our gifts to keep the doors open.
Waking up to heat is not just a blessing, it truly is the greatest of luxuries. The hum of the heater was like a lullaby last night and a reason to sing this morning.
