Daily Gratitude-Year Eleven: Day 157- Today, I am grateful for the best dressed.
There is more to being well dressed than the latest fashion trends. I enjoy fashion. It is fun and keeps us feeling fresh and current. It is, also, good when we reach a season when we know that there is a difference between being well dressed and on trend. They are not always the same.
I have always loved Audrey Hepburn's style. The little black dress and pearls never really go out of style. Of course, I love a more Bohemian flowing look and a jean skirt, too. Again, it is good to get the place that you are comfortable with what you choose to wear. You wear what you like and don't worry about the rest. Now, from experience... your children may be horrified. It is good to try to not embarrass the children.
This passage is one of my favorites. It is real. It is challenging. It is one to pull from your memory when you are struggling and "don't know what to wear."
"So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it." -Colossians 3:13
Not always easy, but always worth pondering on.
Today, I am grateful for the best dressed.
