Daily Gratitude Year Eleven-Day 176- Today, I am grateful for the great paradox of Matthew 16:25.
"If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it." -Matthew 16:25
The freedom is real. Why do we hesitate to embrace it?
The will of God will never lead where His grace cannot provide for every need in every moment. It doesn't mean every step of the journey will be fun and easy. This world can dish up some pretty tough stuff. It does mean He will provide a way through the valley of the shadow... and death is no longer something to fear, but a door to the unimaginable wonders of Heaven.
When we learn to loosen our grip on the lives we had planned out and embrace the path He places before us, we win. We cannot lose. Paul lived with the boldness of one who knew his life could not be taken. He was willing to give it up for the sake of spreading the hope of the Gospel of Jesus.
"Father, let courage replace fear in any area of our lives that keeps us from truly embracing all that you have for us here... until you open the door and invite us into glory. -Amen"
Today, I am grateful for the great paradox of Matthew 16:25.
