Some days gratitude is serious. Some days, we need a little humor. Today required humor.
"Livin' on a Prayer" is a great song. Jon Bon Jovi's talent is rich. He sings songs that remind me of childhood. For the younger crowd, Bon Jovi is on "the oldies" radio stations.
The songs of our youth offer comfort. Even people in their 30's can appreciate the songs and bands they loved in high school. While some of our tastes in music may change over time, there is something about a power ballad from our youth that makes us smile and feel like a kid again.
Are there power ballads in the Bible? I suppose there are Psalms that would qualify. This scripture made seems to fit the bill:
"After this, I heard what sounded like a vast crowd in heaven shouting, “Praise the Lord! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God." -Revelation 19:1
It is powerful. It tells a story. Imagine the music of heaven? Imagine hearing it for the first time. Imagine, every song is a favorite. We can only imagine.
Today, I am grateful we must be 3/4 of the way there.
