Work Can Be Worship

Daily Gratitude Year 12 - Day 249: Today, I am grateful that work can be worship.

"You daily work is ultimately an act of worship to the God who called and equipped you to do it- no matter what kind of work it is." -Tim Keller, Every Good Endeavor

This is so beautifully articulated. The most  humble of work can be the most important. Changing diapers, cleaning bed sheets, scrubbing toilets, and picking up garbage. Whatever our work, if we do treat it as an act of worship, God can use it.

Daily routines are not exciting, but they bring calm and comfort. Grocery shopping, mowing the lawn, and picking up dog poop can be miserable or joyful, depending on our attitude and our gratitude.

Whatever job we do to make a living can be an act of worship, too. He gifts us with each new day. Embrace the opportunity each day brings.

"And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him." -Romans 12:1

Today, I am grateful that work can be worship.
